Subject: [Apac-chapters-workshop] [Announcement] 2019 ISOC Asia-Pacific Chapters’ Workshop to take place on 13-15 June 2019 in Kuala Lumpur

Dear Chapter Leaders,

We are excited to inform you that the 2019 Asia-Pacific Chapters’ Workshop will take place on 13-15 June 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Like the previous years, this annual in-person meeting will have one Chapter-nominated Fellow to attend the meeting on behalf of each eligible Chapter. The Chapters’ Workshop is an opportunity is to ensure that our Chapters and SIGs play an important role in implementing the 2019 Action Plan (https://www.internetsociety.org/action-plan/2019/) and contribute towards shaping the Strategy 2025 (a long term strategy with high level but specific goals to accomplish by 2025) through Action Plan 2020. This meeting will empower our community (Chapters, SIGs and Members) to advocate at the regional level.

Travel Fellowships will be awarded by the Internet Society through a competitive application process based on the Chapter performance and the applicant profile. You are receiving this mail as an eligible Chapter so that you can nominate a Member who might or might not be a Chapter Officer to attend this meeting on behalf of your Chapter.

Similarly, each Chapter will be supporting their nominated Fellow to build a plan in the preparatory phase (Apr 15 - Jun 13) based on inputs from their respective Chapter Leadership and members. They will showcase those plans at the Workshop, finalise with the leadership post-Workshop and the Leadership will implement the same. More details on this process to follow soon.
