Thanks for sharing this Marco. One of the most interesting data points in the article was the percentage of mobile google searches that are local, 1/3 and it is the fastest growing area of search.
It reminds me of one of my favourite projects LocalWiki (https://localwiki.org/) which is still going but I don't know to what extent it is still under active development.
