Dear all,

I am pleased to share that we have officially launched the call for applications for the Enertracks Spring 2021 virtual study tour, which will take place from May 31-June 30. Applications will be accepted from now until March 28.

What is Enertracks?

The EnerTracks training programme was developed by Agora in cooperation with the Renewables Academy (RENAC) and aims to share sector specific knowledge with independent thought leaders working in the field of the transformation of energy systems in low- and middle-income countries. It is funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and is made up of three training paths:

  1. The Enertracks Fellowship
  2. Study tours
  3. Online training

Both the fellowship and study tours would usually take place in person, but due to the COVID-19 travel restrictions, we have postponed all in-person programming until further notice. In the meantime, we will continue to offer virtual Study Tours and online courses throughout 2021.

What is the Virtual Study Tour?

The virtual EnerTracks Study Tour was designed with a practice-orientated approach to enhance and strengthen the ability of participants to engage in thoughtful dialogue with energy policy stakeholders in their home country. Through this 5-week interactive online programme, a competitively selected group of 12-18 energy transition professionals are provided with immersive training in electricity system modelling, design thinking, and renewable energy finance. Since 2018, a total of 60 participants from different countries have taken part in the EnerTracks in-person and virtual study tours. To see the full programme, click here.

Who can participate? Applicants should:

  • Be a national of one of the eligible countries (List of Eligible Countries)
  • Be currently employed currently at a think tank, non-profit organisation, NGO, other civil society organisation, or in academia working in the power sector or other relevant field
  • Have a minimum of five years professional experience in the power or climate sector at the time of application, including project management experience
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university, in economics, environmental science, engineering, political science, or similar (Master’s degree preferred)
  • A strong understanding of power systems, energy economics, and climate and energy policy
  • Familiarity with policy instruments and energy transition policy processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity and humility

Please help spread the word about this opportunity by sharing with your networks. In case you know of suitable candidates or are just curious about the programme, feel free to reach out to me!

Kind Regards,

Kenzie

Mackenzie Nelson
