One neat story we were (lightly) involved with was a deployment of Open5GS in support of a COVID quarantine area: https://github.com/open5gs/open5gs/issues/360

I'm not sure if we're the one to tell the story but it is a compelling case for the value of open-source telecom.

Hi Luca, maybe its relevant to remember some cases of open networks in
the context of emergency, calamity and disaster situations, cause a lot
of countries are signed in the Tampere Convention, that treats about
telecom infrastructure in that cases.

Almost all those countries have regulations about it. Here in Brazil is
the resolution 656/2015 from Anatel.

In USA, during the Katrina hurricane, there are informations how the CNs
saved people in there. If I remember well was the Commotion Wireless
project from OTI.

The focus need to be the Covid19, but, it is an oportunity the expand
the debate to all kind of emergencies... what do u think?
