It’s excellent news. I’m very happy for the CN community in Brazil, this will definitely constitute a step in the right direction.

It’s very interesting how Brazil and Mexico have advanced in the policy ecosystem faster than most. Apart from the obvious truth that each country is different, it’s  definitely worth taking a look at what particular steps are more representative to the goal of formal recognition and adequate characterization.

Thanks for the update Luca, hoping to see more from Brazil soon!

Cheers,

That is unnecessary.

Dear all,

I just want to share some excellent news from Brazil.

The Brazilian Telecoms Regulator Anatel has officially recognized Community Networks as an option for Internet access and explicitly mentions (and links) our 2018 outcome “The Community Network Manual” in the decision.

https://www.anatel.gov.br/setorregulado/component/content/article/2-uncategorised/528-redes-comunitarias

This is, to date, the biggest country on hearth officially recognizing CN and it is largely due to the excellent and incessant work of many members of this list!

Congratulations to ALL people involved!!!!

All the best

Luca
