thanks to guifipedro, we got it working on the tplink wr1043n using openwrt... As Guido said, the tricky part was to get both blue and yellow ports to work. If anyone wants to see the configuration for the wr1043n, i've attached:

/etc/config/system
/etc/config/wireless

Multiwan seems discontinued, you should use the mwan3 package:

I tried once, using a TpLink WDR3600 with plain OpenWrt (not LibreMesh)
for trying to have a stable connection out of two unreliable WWANs
(connected to the WDR3600 via cable, while WDR3600 was the AP and mwan3)
and it worked, no much configuration was needed indeed.
