Safe is not operational yet, now in alpha 3 and later this year hopefully its first beta. I don't think you can compare these solutions. SAFE does not use blockchain (thank God) it splits ever file in smaller chunks that are spread around on unknown (for 3rd parties) storage spaces around the network, so no node contains the whole file. This is anonymous, fast and according me besides the GNU network the best solution out there. GNU might take the cake since it is ported to OpenMesh

Seems a good idea, but IPFS has a way of distributing data that makes it unique. Like buiding storage trees we could have provate or public. Gateways and IPDNS makes it easy to use as storage for DApp.
