There was an ask ( please see very interesting transcript from precious email on WSIS 2021 Forum session 3 bridging digital divide) to connect with whatever available tech with speed rather than wait for the best or newest solution, for covid 19 has made economies dependent on ICTs. In the west with land line phones there is 3 way calling ...wonder if there is technology fix to take this to more callers say 10 callers connecting. The bandwidth to enable zoom education is not available to all, but land line phones are more common in rural areas. Also dial up internet is still an important option and content should be made avaliable for these technologies. I grew up through dial up and know it can be used effectively for some purposes ... Question please connectivity and devices

Dear DC A question please. Reflecting on WSIS, ITU deals with connectivity as IGF does.For the full meaningful citizen access experience, a device is typically required too. Is there a UN Agency that deals with advocating the provision of ICT devices, e.g Tablet for All or does that come under IGF DESA only? The other thought was, in business right now, lots of discussion of what the new normal will look like post Covid19 critical pandemic times. Issues of sustainable connectivity and betterment there-of, as well as now a dependence on internet to provide e-solutions for ebusiness and egovernment alike . Temporary measures are now here to stay for all time, as cost effectiveness or return on investement can be realized. Is this something that we should discuss please ? IGF session: CN funding models?

Dear all, I hope everyone is well (within the limit of the ongoing pandemic mess)! As you might know, the deadline to submit an IGF session proposal is next week. A recurring theme that emerged in recent CN related discussions is how to make alternative connectivity models financially sustainable and at the same time scalable I know many list members have worked on this topic and I would like to check if there is any interest to be pannellist or other role in such a session or if there is any other suggestion for a good topic for the DC3 session. A DC3 outcome for this year could be a brief paper on such topic Feel free to reply on-list or via direct email.
