Hi Jane
We decided the mentees and mentors but allowing ICANN to release the
information. We encouraged folks from South American, North America,
Austraulia, New Zealand and the SAMI of Finland.
Many applied from other regions which are part of the ICANN normal
Fellowship program. As you know we have serious discrimination in
fellowship programmes which compelled us to promote a focused program only
for Aboriginal/first nations people. Key is their involvement with ICANN
ecosystem. Specially in our case with NARALO which I am the Chair. Note
Loris Taylor of Native Public Media a member of NARALO for years is a
big proponent of raising the issue of First Nations concerns in ICANN.
After many years of pushing the issue we succeeded, not without the
typical backlash
Noteworthy today and yesterday we had serious meetings with folks working
on off the grid power systems in Canada and in Tanzania which maybe of
interest to this group since Power is Key.
