Hi all
It would be great if we know that IFLA is working in India too. We have
some networks which are working in public libraries. Would like to explore
more collaborations and opportunities.

Hi, an update ... After looking for direct or indirect contacts with
 the
elected president of IFLA I sent her this email below (translated from
Catalan). She already replied that she's away but we'll talk when
she's
     back.
A rough translation of my message:
Hi Glòria, I am a researcher at UPC and do research community
 networks.
At the last IGF in Guadalajara (MX) we had the opportunity to speak
 with
Stuart Hamilton on the issue of universal access to the Internet
(Dynamic Coalition on Community Connectivity). We both agreed that
community networks (communication networks created and managed by the
citizens themselves) as libraries share some values and objectives in
this regard. We said it could be useful to contact you in your role as
president. In addition, in Catalonia we have one of the world's largest
     community network,
guifi.net, with more than 32,000 nodes.
Here is a video that has been done to explain the relationship between
libraries and community networks (especially in rural areas) here in
 the
     context of
guifi.net:

     A research article that explains
guifi.net in great detail:

     Spanish Translation:

If you see something interesting and want to discuss ideas for
collaboration we can meet. Roger Baig and Roger Pueyo in copy from
 the

guifi.net Foundation (

     Sincerely, Leandro.
