Thanks Jane and Bob for your insight on this!
Awesome to know that ISOC is having some involvement on this regarding
Community Networks :)

There are many vested interests and we can make a difference slowly
and thoughtfully.
5G was a bit of a different situation. Many underestimated the
importance of working with and talking to developing and least-
developed countries first before they tried to sell something on 5G.
The “its good for you” approach does not work and collaboration is
paramount.
Note we are seeing infrastructure issues all around – like lack of x-
border opening but closing in the name of security and the same with
back-haul from sub-cable landing stations – some say it should be for
one operator. We saw that in many countries 20 years ago. What is
old is new. Let’s focus on transparency and opening up dialogue as
shutting doors will not work.
Just a ramble on a Tuesday evening.

Personally I'd steer clear of the ITU because they are all about
creating value inside the network rather than in communities. It is
the anti-Internet.
I'm writing some comments now on their so-called 5G effort which
is a case in point.

aspects of the internet'
Hi guys,
I saw this today (and it ends by tomorrow).
Does anyone wrote something there or wants to do it?
