Hi, this is a survey that Maria and Dimitris from U. of Westminster
(London) are running as part of the netCommons project. Your
participation will help us a lot. Thanks in advance, Leandro.

Dear Madam/Sir
We are a team of researchers based at the University of Westminster in
London and working for the netCommons Project (EU Horizon 2020 project
netCommons: Network Infrastructure as Commons, _http://netcommons.eu_).
As part of the project, we are conducting an online survey to examine
users’ concerns about Internet use and at the same time explore the
potential of alternative Internet provision. Such concerns will provide
useful input to policy makers and regulators who hold significant
responsibilities over the telecommunications and Internet landscape, and
consequently need to take informed steps towards the evolution of this
landscape.
We are looking in particular for respondents (Internet users) who are
academic/research staff, students, IT product/services professionals or
administrative/clerical staff at Universities or research institutes.
We would be grateful if you could take some time (about 20 minutes) to
complete the survey.
The survey link is: _https://d52netcommons.limequery.com/357528?lang=en_
[if the link doesn’t work, please copy and paste it in the address box
of your browser]
The survey will be available online until 30 July 2017.
Many thanks for your collaboration.
Kind regards,
Prof. Christian Fuchs

Hi guys,
I've been invited to the community networks summit in Africa (we are actually ending it right now), but a nice idea came to my mind that I want to share with you.
For those of you that are community network representatives, I would like to ask you if you can make a short video (1 min tops) were you tell:
* Name
* CN name
* Where are you from
* Any message for the rest of us, could be a request for the rest, a greeting, a nice message, whatever you feel is nice for the rest to hear
That will allow all of us to understand the dimensions of this global community we are building, and to feel more close to each other.
For those that are CN promoters, please let them know and would be great to know about them!
Thanks for reading :)

Dear all,
I have some encouraging news to share: a fellow young professional I met in
Guadalajara at IGF 2016 wants to include sustainable access in the agenda
of the 2017 Colombian IGF. I was really touched by her email, especially
since the idea came out of conversations her and I had in December.
Specifically, she is interested in discussing:
-- The extra energy needed and what type of sources should we promote in
conjunction with the introduction of internet to villages.
-- The production process of technology and what should we promote in terms
of job quality and equal conditions. She wants to highlight the situation
of cobalt mining, for instance.
Would a Spanish-speaker or anyone working in Latin America, specifically
someone with experience with getting villages connected, be willing to be
introduced to her? I thought this would be the perfect place to seek
expertise.
Best,
-Michael
