Thanks for the detailed reply! Just one more addition
for the comment below, to avoid misunderstandings.

Related to
this, I would feel more comfortable if some major CNs were
already in the list (in addition to
guifi.net I would also invite
freifunk.net for example) when we will start spreading the news.
I think it's
perfectly fine if we have the first SIG meeting with the
founding members and then we reach out to other communities. We, the
current group, have shared this CNSIG creation process for a while
already and I feel it's good for consolidation that we have this first
meeting among those who started it.
There are a lot of communities to reach out to, but considering this is
at least the third time we try to create a global community networks
"federation", I prefer to move slowly but steadily, hoping this time we
can succeed :)
If a majority prefers to start reaching out ASAP, let's discuss how.
What would make me feel better (it was not even a
proposal :-)) is to include in the SIG some "obvious"
CNs at the "wider announcement" time, not
for the kick-off meeting. I think it is perfectly fine to
have this meeting in a smaller circle, and actually
more "realistic" in terms of listening to all voices.
But there are open questions in my mind related to
the definition of what is a "CN" in CNSIG :-) and
my feeling is that this should have been the
reason behind previous "failures" to create a
federation (?).
In any case, I hope that we will be able to touch
on this sensitive issue, to build a better awareness
at least between us, without letting the possible
diversity of opinions and perspectives to block
things.
I will try to type some more thoughts in the
pad before the kick-off meeting ... looking forward!
