It doesn't need to conceive speculation... that is there by design...
there could be a currency that doesn't include speculation as part of
its model.
But perhaps there are some gains to be made (e.g.,
public awareness

pressure for better legislation) if big players enter in this
ecosystem.
I am not sure, and I would be actually interested in your opinion ...

This would be very interesting... but usually mantaining a
blockchain
requires a lot of storage and CPU power... routers might not be the
best fit for it.
However, thinking of local digital ledgers for local digital
currencies
is a very interesting topic.
