Hi,
I read that nodogsplash solution is work in progress...
I succeed to use libremesh with 2 TP-Link WR841ND and TPLink WR842ND ;)
I <3 That! That nodes will be perfect for indoor (by the window) use.
But I work on outdoor routers too...
I still have some troubles with my Bullet M2 & M2HP. Reading around, it
can be related to WAN need for Internet relaying?
"If the LiMe router has no WAN port (just LAN ports, or just one
ethernet port), one of the ethernet ports has to be configured as WAN
port in order to share the internet connection. Refer to next section
for configuration."
It can explain why I have weird behaviour since I activate DHCP server
with specific DNS on eth0?!
I still don't understand well how subnets are created, how DHCP is
shared or not on whole mesh, how DNS resolution is made (could be used
to control internet access)?
I am thinking about using a Raspeberry PI server for mesh control &
local services hosting (many can become cloud like)...
I feel that this christmas will be great!
Happy Christmas
One love
Fred

Excellent, Fred!
You only need to install nodogsplash on the node that is connected to
the internet (ie the internet outside your community!)
The list you've sent is awesome. Did you see that Marvin installed
sandstorm.io <http://sandstorm.io> in his network? Seems like a nice
local service to start with. Mediagoblin for video and ampache for music
are also very good.
I'm also very interested in local applications that have good android
clients, since that is how most of the neighbors here connect to the
net. Let me know if you find anything interesting.
Love

Great Bruno!!
I have almost everything to amaze my neighbors ;) I'll need to install
nodogsplash on every Internet connected nodes?
I would like to start a collaborative mesh network between citizens to
create new local services to community. I heard about
http://cloudy.ec/
and wish to try self hosted services to animate my village network.
Sharing bits & habits...

To decentralize the Net...
But I'll open another thread about that.
No I am flashing!! Next router is WR842ND (& WR841N but they have less
than 4M ROM)
United now!! One Love <3

I want to activate Mesh in my village... I don't know how to insert a
login page (captive portal) with LiMe mesh? Is it possible?
Hey Fred
if you want just a splash page with info on the local network, you can
install nodopgplash on the gateway router. But it must be the version
hacked to work with libre mesh. Therefore, ssh into the router and
opkg update
opkg install

<http://chef.altermundi.net/downloads/r44952/ar71xx/packages/routing/nodogsplash_0.9_beta9.9.9-2-20150718_043129_ar71xx.ipk>
Then edit the /etc/nodogsplash/htdocs files.
Please notice that nodogsplash only works when the internet connection
is up. If for some reason the connection stops working, users won't be
directed to the portal.
If you want to implement a voucher/login system, or wants a hack for a
captive portal when there's no internet, there's a thorough
documentation... in portuguese :)
