Hi all,
I would like to contribute some more info in relation to supported hardware:

As the LibreRouterOS is based on OpenWRT 18.06.x (and will be moving to
newer versions of OpenWRT as they come out), the underlying OS will
support the same hardware as OpenWRT does (like the drivers for the
hardware, the patches applied to the different packages that come with
OpenWRT, etc).
At the application layer on the OS, it uses LibreMesh with a few
additions related to the LibreRouter hardware (like safe-upgrade for
example) that will be disabled if you are not using it, so it is
basically a LibreMesh image.
Is there
any roadmap, plan or intention to include any of the other
devices we normally use with Libremesh (like Ubiquity Nanostations)?
Not official support, but if some developer wants to test and support them then
great...it is possible that they already work I don't know.
There are certain sets of assumptions that come out of using the devices
that are proposed on the mentioned list, that might provide a sub-par
experience with devices that don't have them, like more than one radio
in more than one frequency (at least one in 2.4ghz and one in 5.8ghz).
As the LibreRouterOS team doesn't have equipment like Ubiquiti
Nanostations in their networks (the ones that AlterMundi participates,
namely QuintanaLibre and LaBolsaLibre, and those that we directly
support as AnisacateLibre, NonoLibre), we don't have the equipment to
test those cases or to implement any features in relation to providing
support to those equipment, nor the urgent need to explore to have them,
as our main and most urgent focus is to polish the support for the
LibreRouter, as it will solve the other very concerning issue of
programmed obsolescence and ongoing efforts of having to hack devices.
The reason why we are doing releases of LibreRouterOS and not on
LibreMesh is because we need for the features that we are pushing to get
updated for those that are already using the LibreRouter, while the
LibreMesh community self-organizes at its own pace... we don't want to
impose but we either want to stall the process of the LibreRouter, and
we don't have any more capacity for other things, so we have opted to
continue contributing (as we have always done) without imposing processes.
And for those that are not already aware, the reason why we maintain the
LibreRouter as an open software and open hardware mesh wireless router
for Community Networks is because there are none that fit the job to
support geek-free wireless infrastructure as it does: two high power
5ghz open source-compatible radios, comes from factory with LibreMesh,
and has many custom hardware that makes it perfect for CNs.
In these times though, were there is going to be a massive economic
recession greatly affected by the coronavirus, we understand that the
need for repurpusing of equipment might grow, and we hope that more
people get inspired by this and contributes support for more devices. We
have a strong commitment with the
LibreRouter.org and we also hope that
its adoption also helps reduce the pressure in the repurpusing of
equipment, but we still understand and hope that those that have already
been manufactured can be put to good use where they are needed.

I would say it is definitely worth a try, as it fixes essential issues
that repurpusing hardware creates in Community Networks, from increased
maintenance, fragility that comes of using off the shelf domestic
equipment for other uses, repairability, open hardware customization,
and so on.
You can already ask for them through the librerouter(a)altermundi.net
email, or the website
https://librerouter.org
Hope this information contributes to the conversation.
