question. Is it possible to use openwrt build root 14.04 in order to compile lime ?. i am
confused because on the previous link it says 15.04.

Lime-build uses the OpenWRT buildroot, so the problem will probably come
from it.

I've been trying to create an image for
tp-link mr3020 using lime-build
with the stable lime bing bang. Unfortunately i'am getting this error
when the utility tries to download openssl

I didn't try to reproduce, but sounds like your lime-build is looking
for an old version of openssl that is not on repositories anymore. Maybe
you can solve upgrading lime-build environment, try
make update_all
otherwise start with a new lime-build installation or with classical
compilation, both compilation methods are explained here:
