Hi all,
Agree with points made.
Look forward to hearing from the current project CNs on status.
Re local content creation and peer learning... I have been exploring this and reached out
to Locnet participants (the women specifically) for this exact issue. What local content
platforms are being used (Ive been recommended yunohost) and what content development
processes and ideas have worked to encourage meaningful ongoing content production or use
of the platform. I am in awe of the namma school radio of Janastu CN (India), I am also
very interested in Coolab’s and others’ community mapping processes and applications
(local product market place, media sharing, community notice boards, etc).
The initial idea that I was formulating was to have someone stay for 10-15 days at
Zenzeleni and co-design onsite… so that there is not only co-designing but also a strong
local learning process. I think documenting this process through visual digital stories
could be valuable to larger community too. Digital literacy learning would come via the
co-design and so-development of the above. In line with other conversations (with Vasilis
and others) I would integrate the concept of fostering responsible development and
internet use (incl. privacy, ethics, code of conduct etc).
So initially two main areas of work: 1) platform and local content dev. 2) documenting and
showcasing this first process. What has stopped us to date is the capacity to manage this
alone. So Vasilis, and others, if you are keen to share the management of the grant and
design and project that makes sense also to others I am super keen.
Word!

From my point of view, this could be a good opportunity
to submit a proposal for CN members exchange, in order to share good practices, knowledge
and experience. This could be, for example, the case for the local content exploration
that we were discussing about in Paris, or the digital literacy practices, experiences
& training material that we are interested in as Sarantaporo.gr, or, further, the CN
deployment solutions / architecture that each of us employs.
In any case, I agree with Peter, that we should do an update on any previous status
concerning this funding program.

I guess the first question is what happened with the money CNSIG requested last time? Was
it all spent and reports made and so on? In other words, are we "in good standing
with ISOC" as a SIG?

Hi everyone,
The call for this year's Beyond The Net is open.
Are we planning to present any projects as the CNSIG?
If we do, we need to sign an agreement with a national chapter that's
willing to handle the project money.
Cheers,
Nico
