The hardware of v1.1 is identical to v1, they are just shipping it with
an upgraded firmware. The openwrt patch is just to add the new version
to the support list.
Afaik on tp-link devices it is always like this, i.e. they add 0.1 to
the version number when there has been just a software modification,
when it's new hardware they add 1.
