so you mean that webpage?
http://libremesh.org/docs/hardware/index.html
also on freifunk we have that problem with different hardware, so every
3rd freifunk community is recommending different hardware:
freifunk-gluon users often loves cheap tplink hardware, with
freifunk-meshkit more valuable hardware is nicer. we could do endless
discussions about what "tested" means.
please also see
http://wikidevi.com
Unfortunately libremesh firmware on the webpage is only available for a
very few openwrt/lede-capable devices.
Who could compile firmware for all other devices (at least the ar71xx)?
Most of these devices should work properly: for instance, i mean: tplink
850, tplink 860, tplink 3020, tplink 3040
Most important hardware-hint at the website should be a warning about
libremesh-gateway! most hardware IS NOT capable doing the Gateway Node,
even when having 8MB Flash!!! you need some more RAM!
((so wdr-3600 is nice, Nanostation-M5-xw is also nice, but
Nanostation-M5-(non-xw) is bad for that))
This is a main libremesh show-stopper, because firmware can be flashed
to the designated device, but will only fail/hang/reboot when having a
cable with internet-gateway (because of less RAM, bmx gateway will crash,..)

We're going to write on the web a list of tested

The discussion on this is here:

Please answer with the routers you tried with LibreMesh.
I played with:
TP-Link WDR3600
TP-Link WR1043ND-v1
Ubiquiti NanoBridge M5
Ubiquiti NanoStation M5 XM
Ubiquiti NanoStation LoCo M2
