Hey all.
I just wanted to share with you that some weeks ago I migrated alterchef source code from Django 1.4 to Django 1.9.
Requirements are almost the same but:
- - South is not a requirement anymore since Django ships its own migration mechanism for a while now.
- - Django-jsonfield now replaces the implementation of JSONField
These changes are available in my django1.9 branch in GitHub. Since I don't know about the current VCS you are using (Mercurial)
I preferred to migrate first to Git and then work. Feel free to merge them (but please respect authorship). I also encourage you
to change VCS ;)
Main repo: https://colectivo.altermundi.net/projects/chef
My repo (django-1.9 branch): https://github.com/PabloCastellano/alterchef/tree/django-1.9
Commit log: https://github.com/PabloCastellano/alterchef/commits/django-1.9
I also started migrating the code to Python 3 while keeping compatibility with Python 2 but it turned out to be more tedious
than expected and I stopped it. I think the best is just migrating to Python 3 without keeping compatibility.
Regards,
Pablo.

Hi all!
On the LEDE project homepage there are some endorsement from some wireless
communities, shall we add also the support from Libre-Mesh?
https://www.lede-project.org/
Ciao,
Ilario
Hey there.
I just cooked libremesh for a spare TL-MR3220 I had at home.
However, while Chef does usually generate files like "lime-MODEL-REVID-NETID-factory.bin" and
"lime-MODEL-REVID-NETID-sysupgrade.bin", in this case I got three files:
lime-uImage-gzip-REVID-NETID.bin
lime-uImage-lzma-REVID-NETID.bin
lime-vmlinux-REVID-NETID.bin
Is this behavior expected?

Hello,
What are your favorite apps to use within a Libre-Mesh network? I am
interested in apps that do not need Internet.
1. Do you run a SIP server? An XMPP server? A forum server? Any other
service?
Any word about it is welcome. Server side or client side. Or any
reference to documentation.
2. What about serverless apps? I am specially interested in these ones.
Do you run any? (Retroshare, Tox...)
What is your favorite? Why?
I am looking for completely decentralized apps that can run within the
community network and don't require Internet. Apparently some
"peer-to-peer" protocols are not completely decentralized and sometimes
need to contact a kind of centralized directory server for
bootstrapping/peer discovery. I am not interested in those. I don't know
much about the topic, but I think friend-to-friend protocols or
protocols where peer discovery could be done just by scanning the
network sound better to me.
The more answers, the better.
Thank you!

Hey all,
I'm getting a few techies together tonight to play with libre-mesh to see
if we can't eventually setup a network in New Orleans. I'm pretty novice
myself so it would be cool if someone could try to be around in the IRC
channel in case we have questions.
We're meeting at 6:30pm Central US.
