I'm happy to take notes on my experience and add it to the blog. I'm having
some trouble registering though.
After registration, I don't get any confirmation email and
username/password not accepted when I try to log in.

Hi everyone, I've spent the past few weeks
trying to find routers without
blocked firmware and test small deployments of Libre-Mesh. First off, are
there any online tutorials / walkthroughs on installation? I'm basing
everything off one workshop I went to.
Hi Marvin! Sorry for the delay!!
Up to now there's first flashing guide for Libre-Mesh, as it's
suggested to follow the generic OpenWrt guide for flashing:
https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/generic.flashing
and the OpenWrt instructions for specific devices:
https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/start
I'm sorry for this lack of documentation on Libre-Mesh side, if you
will to write one on the wiki... :D
I'm at the point now where I have a two
Ubiquity airGateways and one
airRouter flashed with builds from here
<http://chef.altermundi.net/downloads/libre-mesh/r44952/1509/ar71xx/>.
Perfect! That's the right Libre-Mesh stable firmware source.
They
are able to broadcast the Libre-Mesh and Libre-Mesh/routerID SSIDs.
Ok :)
But I'm unable to open the router settings.
Since I've flashed, I haven't
been able to access any router using any of the following: 192.168.0.1,
192.168.1.1, thisnode.info or
http://anygw.
Mmmh I supposed that both thisnode.info or
http://anygw should work...
Did you try to connect to the Libre-Mesh router disconnecting your PC
from any other network?
Both via cable and via wireless?
The IP of the Libre-Mesh router is set in a way to not have
collisions, so it's quite random.
For discovering the router IPv4 and IPv6 and IPv6 link local you have
many ways on Linux (wireshark, netdiscover, ping6 ff02::1%interface,
arp-scan, nmap). I heard about an Android app also (Fing). On other
operating systems no idea.
Also on this point we should write a wiki page...
Any tips about what steps I can take next to
debug what's going on? I
have
no prior experience with Libre-Mesh or OpenWRT so
you may have to speak
very
slowly to me.
Just connect to the router and try to discover it's IP first, then we'll
see :)
Bye!
Ilario
